Buy Sour Cream And Onion Doritos NEW!

I just found these the other day, and when I first spotted them, I REALLY got excited! I remember eating these things when I was a kid back in the late 70s and early 80s, and I always wished FritoLay would bring them back. As a matter of fact, I called FritoLay several months ago and requested them to reintroduce the sour cream and onion flavor. It looks like they finally listened!:)

This flavor was discontinued so long ago that I don't even personally remember eating any. Sour cream and onion is a common flavor on potato chips, but it's nearly unheard of on tortilla chips. The taste of the seasoning on these corn chips was nothing like sour cream and onion potato chips and reminded many of our tasters of Cool Ranch, though these weren't as tangy or as good as Cool Ranch. Nothing spectacular here, but all of our tasters still liked these and enjoyed crunching on a few with some beers. Shop: Buy Doritos on Amazon #ad

I agree with you. Cool ranch does not come close to the sour cream & onion Doritos. They really need to bring them back. A lot of people I spoke to never tried the sour cream & onions Doritos. They would love to try them.

I totally agree. I lived on those 25 bags for Doritos in the 70s as a kid and sour cream and onion were awesome. I thought I was so mature and like a sophisticated young kid eating my sour cream and onion Doritos in front of other 9-11 year old kids because anything with onion in it even in the title scared the pants out of most kids then (and now too I imagine). I would pay a premium to have these sour cream and onion Doritos back on the shelves. The cool ranch flavor is not the same and has too much salt or salt flavor on the tongue. Sour cream and onion had the right combination and flavor profile that you could not get tired of eating. I will write Frito lay and maybe they can sell these on line direct to customers if their concerned about limited shelf space. But if I were Frito lay I would dump some of those odd ball flavors like sweet chili and add back sour cream and onion.

hope you continue to make and supply us endlessly with the sour cream onion flavor so so happy to see that flavor has returned and also loving the taco flavor!!!please continue to make these flavors. These are my two happy flavors!!!love love them!!!Thank you for bringing them back.

2. Make a roux. While your pasta is cooking, make the sour cream and onion sauce by melting some butter in a pan. When the butter is melted, stir in some flour to create a roux (see tips below).

As we sat in the Fun studios and enjoyed what we thought would be a gush of sour cream and onion flavor, instead we were more than convinced that in fact Doritos just stuck Cool Ranch in a bag and called them Sour Cream and Onion, but you'll have to try them out and tell us what you think.

Reincarnations and relaunches of taco-flavored Doritos, including the 2008 "Back By Popular Demand" campaign, were different from the original taco flavor (a sour cream flavor had been added to the recipe around 1985). The taco chips included in the Zesty Taco and Chipotle Ranch "Collisions" bags were thought by customers to be closer to the original, but were later discontinued in most of the United States.[26] In late 2010, the taco flavor recipe that was used in the 1980s returned in a limited edition "retro" styled bag incorporating the original Doritos logo, and in early 2011 the company announced that this incarnation would remain in the permanent product line-up.[27]

To coincide with the 50th anniversary of Taco Bell, Doritos and Taco Bell partnered to form the Doritos Locos Tacos, introduced on March 8, 2012. The taco is a standard Crunchy Taco. The taco comes either as a Doritos Locos Taco Supreme (ground beef, lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and sour cream), or a Regular Doritos Locos Taco (ground beef, lettuce, and shredded cheese), but the taco shell is made out of Nacho Cheese Doritos.[55] From 1978 to 1997, both Taco Bell and Doritos were under the same corporate umbrella within PepsiCo until PepsiCo spun off its restaurant business into what would eventually become what is now Yum! Brands.

You absolutely get that sour cream and onion taste right away. There is also a cheesy-ness to it that I like. A friend of mine said they reminded him of Cool Ranch and I bet that is what they were transformed into.

We have already gone through one bag in no time at all. Reg loved them as much as I did so it was a bit of a race to the bottom of the first bag. Sour cream and onion corn tortilla chips. What could be wrong?

Herr's loves the salt content, so these cheddar and sour cream chips really pack it in. They're slightly lower in carbs, but the standard 2.5 grams of saturated fat that is in pretty much all their chips.

The sour cream and onion flavor doesn't actually add too much in the way of the overall nutrition, keeping the sodium and carb content pretty on par with Lay's plain flavors, as well as other brands' flavors.

Made many times and this time got the perfect combo. Never layered chips after first time, just added well crushed chips to mixture. Only other changes were two cups of Costco salsa, one small can of sliced olives, GENEROUS cup of sour cream and one can of refried beans. This time used Lime Jalapeño tortilla chips which I found at Winco and I crushed. MAJOR uptake in taste from the Nacho cheese chips. Mixed sautéed onion, beef and garlic with all other ingredients and produced the yummiest of all my tries.

This recipe starts with ground beef, which is cooked with onions, taco seasoning and salsa to form the base of the casserole. The ground beef mixture gets mixed with sour cream, and then is layered in a casserole dish with crushed Dorito chips and cheese. The casserole goes into the oven to bake, and then is finished off with diced tomatoes and green onions.

I drained the little bit of grease from ground beef and added a can of corn to the mix. When the casserole was done I had every topping I had on hand on the counter for the family to fix their own the way they each wanted it. Like a taco bar. We had sour cream, scallions, black olives, jalapeños, salsa, nacho cheese, and extra nacho cheese Doritos. It was a huge hit and will be making this again. ( will try it with shredded chicken too)Thank you!

This was really good, I did add some black beans and corn to make it go a little farther. We topped it with cilantro, sour cream, a bit more salsa, tomatoes, lettuce and diced avocados. My toddlers only picked the chips out but my older son loved it. I did forget the sour cream step so ill have to add that next time but it was fine without it. 041b061a72
